1.Work hard again.

Hello, my dear readers!
A week ago the second semester of my first year at HSE-NES began, and now it’s time for me to continue a lovely tradition of writing weekly blogs. Today’s blog will be devoted to the first week of this semester. To say the truth, I can’t wait to tell you about my new classes, aims and emotions.
The first week of this semester was really nice. During winter holidays I missed some of my groupmates so much that when I saw them again, I was in seventh heaven. Of course, I liked the first week because we had almost no homework to do during it. So, I happily admit that my brains had one more week of laziness and quietness.  Anyway, I had to make an important choice of what additional subjects I would study in this semester. Fortunately, I had nearly no doubt about my preferences. English 202, biology and demography are exactly the courses which I feel I will enjoy.
By the way, I want to say a few words about my new courses.
Firstly, I would like to pay attention to my English classes. I’m absolutely delighted with our course, which is called Introduction to Literature! You know, I’m crazy about reading classical books. Unfortunately, being very busy, during my studying I can’t usually spend any time enjoying a breathtaking novel, for example. And now one of my favorite activities becomes a compulsory part of our homework! What can be better?
Secondly, I want to speak about biology. This course seems to be extremely interesting because its main theme will be the origin of humankind. We will read some exciting books such as The Ancestor’s Tale, What did the “talking” monkeys tell about? and The origins of virtue. By the way, I’m quite interested in our first homework where we should compare the proteins of the chimpanzee, human and macaque.
The third subject I prefer to mention is demography. I can’t give you much information about it now as we had only two classes. I can only say that I consider this course to be a great combination of mathematical formulas, statistics and useful theories.
The last two subjects are linear algebra and microeconomics. To be honest, they seem to be the most difficult, sometimes even intolerable courses in this semester. However, I’ll try to do my best to understand all the themes which will be explained by our teachers because these two subjects, in all probability, will be strongly connected with my future profession.
In conclusion, I’d like to observe that I’m not crazy about studying, and if I had a chance, I would definitely spend one more week just idling and having fun. My laziness is easy to understand. I’m not just looking forward to doing homework night and day, being nervous and sleepy all the time and worrying about exams and my stupidity. I understand that getting a good education is compulsory, though.  Therefore, I’ll try to work as hard as I can in order to understand all the material our teachers will give us.
